Accreditation

TEFL Org UK is accredited by the NCFE, the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority), the ODLQC (Open and Distance Learning Quality Council) and the UKRLP (UK Register of Learning Providers).

20/30 Hour Course

There are 2 alternatives available for real classroom courses. There is the 20 hour course that happens on weekends, or the 30 hour course that runs from Monday to Wednesdays. The content of both courses is very similar, so which you choose to go to would depend largely on your schedule and freedom of movement.

The differences in the two courses are that the 20 hour course has two teaching practice opportunities, and the 30 hour course has three (the teaching practice is a mock teaching scenario i.e. you teach fellow TEFL students and not real language learners). The 30 hour course also has an extra module on teaching young learners.

These courses are available across the UK on a weekly basis, as well as in Ireland through TEFL Courses Ireland.

Would you like to find out more about TEFL Org UK?

These courses are perfect for those who learn more effectively through activities and being in a classroom context. They will give you the opportunity to meet other like minded people, and to put some of the teaching techniques that you learn into practice.

If you are already a qualified teacher but want to diversify into the English language, or plan to work as a volunteer, teach English in some remote parts of the world, or just want to see if teaching is for you, then this course is the perfect starting point.

50 Hour Online

If you would like a taster of TEFL, but are unable to attend the classroom courses, either because of time limitations, or because you are not in the UK, then the 50 hour online course is a good starting point. It offers all the basics of teaching TEFL i.e. classroom management, teaching speaking, listening, reading, writing and vocabulary, as well as teaching business English, one to one and young learners. There is also a basic grammar module, but if you are feeling a bit nervous about your grammar, you can always add on the 30 hour grammar module for little extra cost.

If you find that you are enjoying the course, and would like to continue further, it is possible to upgrade to the more comprehensive courses later by buying the grammar and specialist modules separately.

120 Hour Online Course

If you have no previous teaching experience and would like the best shot at getting a job in most places around the world, then you should definitely do the 120 hour online course. You can also upgrade this further by adding the weekend or weekday classroom course if you are able to.

The 120 hour course offers all the basic training that you receive in the 50 hour course, plus an extra grammar module, a video course where you can watch some real teaching in action (and get lots of ideas of your own), as well as specialist modules in teaching large classes, and teaching using the telephone.
